A Brief History
Superior Steel Erectors Ltd was founded in 2004 by Benjamin Chanyi. Having acquired nearly a decade’s experience in the structural steel industry, Ben knew that he could provide a superior service and product to Alberta’s construction industry.
While initially concentrating on miscellaneous steel and small erection jobs it wasn’t long before our reputation for excellence attracted clients and the company grew exponentially – and has not stopped growing! We are constantly searching out new projects, new clients, and innovative ways to construct buildings.
Superior Steel Erectors is based upon our belief that safety, integrity, excellence, and customer service are the hallmarks of a successful business.
About Our Staff
From our humble beginnings with a welding machine in the back of a 1980 Chevrolet pickup we now employ upwards of 50 ironworkers and welders, with an average of 15 years’ experience.
Our site and field personnel are experienced and qualified and our track record provides evidence that our shop team, welders, and erection crews are second to none. We emphasize training and safety, and encourage staff to upgrade their skills on a continuing basis. We expect the utmost in integrity and respect from our employees and work to provide our customers with the best product available.
Our field employees are members of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers Union, Local 720 (Edmonton AB) and 97 (Vancouver BC), which allows us to expand field crews quickly to meet the demands of projects. We are proud of our affiliation with Local 720, as the strength of our company relies on the well trained and experienced tradespeople that they provide.
We are equally proud of our management team, who possess excellent skills, experience, and qualifications and provide strategy and guidance to ensure that jobs are completed on time and to the highest quality and safety standards. We promote continued education and provide the very best and latest tools and software to ensure that we stay one step ahead of our competition.
